Indications/Uses
Prevention and treatment of Vitamin C deficiency.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 tablet daily with meals or as directed by a healthcare professional.
Overdosage
Symptoms include renal calculi, nausea, gastritis, and diarrhea.
Diuresis with forced fluids may be useful following massive ingestion.
Contraindications
Patients with G6PD deficiency, history of kidney stones, hyperoxaluria, oxalate metabolism disorders, and thalassemia. Individuals with known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
Special Precautions
Patients with diabetes and patients prone to recurrent renal calculi (eg. dialysis patients) should not take excessive doses for extended period of time (some studies point to as little as 100 mg/ day).

Use In Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy category is A/C (dose exceeding RDA recommendation) and vitamin Centers breast milk.
Adverse Reactions
Large doses of Vitamin C may cause diarrhea, gastro-intestinal disturbances, hyperoxaluria and the formation of renal calcium oxalate calculi. Inform your doctor in case of any adverse reactions related to drug use.
Drug Interactions
Vitamin C should not be given for the first month after starting desferrioxamine treatment since it may worsen the iron toxicity. Large supplements of vitamin C may increase serum ethinylestradiol concentrations in women taking oral contraceptives. Giving vitamin C to patient receiving fluphenazine for bipolar disorder was associated with a fall in serum concentrations of fluphenazine and a deterioration of behavior. Concomitant vitamin C taken with warfarin may reduce the activity of warfarin. Vitamin C may increase the absorption of iron in iron-deficiency states.
Caution For Usage
Please do not use the drug If there are any significant changes in appearance of the tablets.
